Process Art Retreat – Autumn 2027
A quiet, held space for those who feel more at home away from the noise.
This is a small, intentional gathering. For those special few who feel a quiet yes when they read these words. If something stirs in you, I invite you to reach out personally.
In Autumn 2027, I will be hosting a carefully curated, immersive Process Art Retreat — a five-day journey into embodied art-making, deep listening, and the intelligence of the creative process.
This is not therapy, though the process can be deeply therapeutic. Each participant is invited to meet the work at their own edge, gently and safely, without pressure to explain, perform, or produce “good art.” No art experience is required; only curiosity and a willingness to explore…
Our small gathering will take place in the Western Cape’s Overberg (venue to be announced), Elim and Gansbaai, surrounded by vast skies, silence, and a particular kind of natural holding. The entire venue will be exclusively ours, creating a sanctuary for deep creative exploration and allowing for a contained and undisturbed experience.
Guided by myself, Melanie Meyer, I draw on my years as both an exhibiting artist and long-time facilitator to ground our days in listening, embodied art-making, and trust in the creative process. Over time, I’ve seen how art can open spaces for clarity, release, and renewal without needing to be explained or interpreted.
The atmosphere will be spacious, gentle, and supportive. You are free to move at your own pace.
You are invited to arrive as you are. Nothing needs to be prepared in advance. Bring nothing but yourself.

Participation Guidelines
To ensure the sanctity of this retreat is carefully repsected, pleaser read through the following.
Quiet is protected
The art processes are held largely in silence. This allows each participant to remain present with their own experience, without distraction. Conversation is welcome during meals and designated social times.
Respect for time
We begin each session together. Arriving on time helps maintain the shared focus and supports the group as a whole.
Each process is personal
This is a judgement-free space. We do not comment on or interpret one another’s work. Each person’s process is their own.
Sharing is simple and held
Opportunities for sharing may arise. When they do, they are kept brief and grounded in the present moment. Listening is offered without feedback, advice, or interpretation.
Connection without pressure
There is no expectation to socialise or engage beyond what feels natural. The space allows for quiet connection, as well as solitude.
A shared responsibility
Each person contributes to the tone of the retreat through their presence, awareness, and respect for others.
A gentle reminder
This retreat offers a facilitated creative process which can be deeply meaningful, but it is not therapy or medical treatment.
